Seperate but equal
After having his veto overturned by Vermont's senate, the governor of Vermont wrote:
"Vermont's civil union law has afforded the same state rights, responsibilities and benefits of marriage to same-sex couples."
If ya don't remember, separate but equal civil rights was tried in Americas past and didn't work then and won't work now. Quit trying to justify it. We are a progressive country that seeks to move forward with civil rights, not backward.
Plus utilizing two parallel forms of government costs taxpayers more money. So there!
