TV finally catches up with life: Gary Unmarried
Oh Dear! I rarely, if ever, rave about a sitcom. Most of them are so calculating and "situational" or just plain unfunny.
There are lots of good TV shows that were not taped in a live audience, like Malcolm in the Middle, Arrested Development, The Simpsons, The Family Guy, Curb your Enthusiasm but very few live sitcoms are good enough for me to watch every week.
There are some exceptions: Married w/Children & Rosanne to name a few off the top of my head, were very good live audience sitcoms. But not since those two brilliant live shows have we had a such a good representation of real life, real words, real wit and funny.
Gary Unmarried could be the next Rosanne or the next "un"-Married w/Children if CBS doesn't cancel it too quick. Give this show a chance. Absolutely spectacular show.
